Hester M. Peirce was appointed to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and was sworn in on January 11, 2018. Prior to joining the SEC, Commissioner Peirce conducted research on the regulation of financial markets at the Mercatus Center at George Mason University. She was a Senior Counsel on the U.S. Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs, where she advised Ranking Member Richard Shelby and other members of the Committee on securities issues. Commissioner Peirce served as counsel to SEC Commissioner Paul S. Atkins. She also worked as a Staff Attorney in the SEC’s Division of Investment Management. Commissioner Peirce was an associate at Wilmer, Cutler & Pickering (now WilmerHale) and clerked for Judge Roger Andewelt on the Court of Federal Claims. Commissioner Peirce earned her bachelor’s degree in Economics from Case Western Reserve University and her JD from Yale Law School.

Todd is also a member of the firm’s Institutional Investor ranked Technical Research team, providing weekly sector research as well as actively working with Strategas’ clients on tailored analysis for securities around the world. Todd has been featured on various financial press outlets including Bloomberg, CNBC, and the Wall Street Journal. Prior to joining Strategas, he worked in various roles at JPMorgan. Todd has earned the Chartered Market Technician (CMT) designation and is a graduate of Syracuse University along with an MBA from Fordham University. He resides in New York City and is proud to have completed four marathons.

She is the host of On with Kara Swisher and a co-host of the Pivot podcast. She hosted HBO’s award-winning Succession podcast and is a regular guest on national broadcasts. Swisher has even appeared on HBO’s Silicon Valley (as herself) and The Simpsons. Additionally, she recently authored the NY Times bestselling tech industry expose Burn Book: A Tech Love Story and cofounded the technology website Recode as well as the country’s premier tech and media conference, Code.
